River Cats Top Mud Cats In Walk Off Fashion
Quinn Construction scored the first run of the matchup in the top of the first inning behind a walk and a pair of singles.vvThat would be their final run until the top of the 7th inning as River Cats starter Mike Hines was nearly lights out on the mound.vvPort Vue tied it up in the bottom of the 3rd behind base knocks from Ryan Kirk and Isiah Petty.vvThe River Cats took the lead in the bottom of the 5th inning behind a Chris Rendulic double and when Kayden Faychak singled and score from an errant pickoff to 3rd base. In the top of the 7th with 1 down, 1 runner on, and a full count, DNL veteran Tarren Senay would drive a ball into the right field trees and tie the game right back up. A single from Mr. Consistent, Auggie Segarra would give Port Vue their first base runner of the bottom of the 7th. An error off a hard-hit ball from Jimmy Knapton would give the Cats their 2nd of the inning. A failed sacrifice bunt would give Quinn 2 outs. River Cats newcomer Cam Seabol would come to the plate and drive in the winning run from a hard-hit ball that was unable to be gloved by Quinn, giving Port Vue the victory. Hines went the distance on the mound, only allowing 3 runs to one of the DNL's most high-powered offenses. Faychak and Segarra led the Cats in the hits column with 2 a piece.
