Mets Rally in Fifth to Top Wright Field Reds
The Cincinnati Mets broke open a scoreless game with a five-run fifth inning, cruising to a 6-3 victory over the Wright Field Reds.
The Reds managed to put two runs on the board in the fifth and added one more late, with Lonnie Robinson leading the offense. But the Mets responded with a relentless rally, fueled by Dave Schultian's two-run hit and Kyle Hensley's three-hit performance. John Vogele also contributed, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Rick Reynolds turned in a solid outing, earning the win by allowing just two earned runs while striking out four. Schultian closed out the game, picking up the save with two innings of strong relief.
Despite the Reds' late effort, the Mets' explosive fifth inning proved decisive, as they played error-free baseball to secure the win.
