Mets Unleash Relentless Offense in 7-Inning Shutout of Colts
The Cincinnati Mets put together a blistering display of hitting and execution, tallying 15 hits and 14 runs without giving up a single earned run to the Colts. Brian Biggs led the way with four RBI on two hits, while Jeff Brokamp not only collected three knocks and scored twice, but also picked up the win on the mound. Billy McDonald chipped in with two RBI, and nine different Mets crossed the plate in a team-wide effort.
On the flip side, the Colts were held to just three hits and were plagued by seven errors, unable to generate any offensive spark. Mets pitching was sharp and efficient - Brokamp, Hensley and Biggs combined for seven scoreless innings, giving up only one walk and striking out six.
It was a complete team performance from the Mets, marked by aggressive hitting, lights-out pitching, and immaculate fielding.
