Tyler Windisch Drives In 4 To Lead Sox Past Milton Dodgers!

Tyler Windisch drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Burlington White Sox past the Milton Dodgers 16-8 on Monday at Milton Sports Centre. Tyler singled in the first inning, scoring one and singled in the second inning, scoring three more. He also "doubled" in the 4th inning to cap a 3 hit day!

Bats blistered as the Sox collected 10 hits and the Dodgers tallied seven in this high-scoring game.

The Burlington White Sox got on the board in the top of the first inning after John Lay doubled, scoring two runs, T. Windisch singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Brandon Jones induced Dylan Grosul to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Burlington scored six runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Lay was struck by a pitch (in epic grape stomp fashion, driving in a run, Josh Cossitt drew a walk, scoring one run, T. Windisch singled, scoring three runs, and Grosul singled, scoring one run.

The Sox added two runs in the third. Tanner Hodgson singled down the right field line, making the score 13-4.

Both pitching staffs looked to be shaking off the early season rust in this high scoring affair.

Doug Chrysler earned the win for Burlington. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and four runs (three earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking two.

Brandon Jones took the loss for Milton. The starter went two innings, giving up 11 runs (10 earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking six.

Jordan Stamp threw one inning of no-run ball for the White Sox in relief. The hurler allowed zero hits, striking out three and walking none.

Burlington amassed 10 hits in the game. Tyler Windisch collected 3 hits in 4 at bats. Tanner Hodgson collected two hits in three at bats. Burlington also displayed patience at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game. Cossitt JR and Alex "Toons" Pallottini led the team with three bases on balls each. The fleet of foot Jordan Stamp and Ben Singh each stole two bases in the offensive effort.

Carlos Perez went 2-for-2 at the plate for the Dodgers and led the team with two runs batted in. Milton had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.

Next up for the Burlington White Sox is a game they will host against the Burlington Chihuahuas on Tuesday night.
