Sox Survive Huge Offensive Game from Dodger's Siracusa!

After being down 4-0 in the 3rd inning and then 6-4 in the 6th inning, the Burlington White Sox snatched the lead at the 11th hour in their 7-6 victory over the Milton Dodgers on Tuesday at Ireland D.

Milton was the first to get on the board in the 2nd inning when Jakob Siracusa hit a solo home run to right field.

The Dodgers would extend their early lead with 3 runs in the top of the 3rd. A couple of errors to start the inning would come back to sting the Sox as Christian D'Cruz and Jakob Siracusa would cash 3 with back-to-back singles and a 4-0 lead.

The Sox would finally get on the board in the bottom of the 3rd with some heads up base running from Charlie Lisac and a clutch 2 out hit from Jordan Stamp to make the score 4-1 after 3 innings.

Burlington would score 2 more in the 4th inning after a leadoff SINGLE off the fence from Brett "Pimp Everything" Graham, a stolen base and then Tyler "Better" Windisch taking one for the team to put 2 on. Cossitt JR would hit a mile high pop up (with english) right on home plate and somehow Graham would score from 2nd base on that tough error. Then Alex "Toons" Pallottini would promptly step up and hit a scorching single to RF to score Windisch and make the score 4-3 after 4 innings.

Lisac would cause havoc on the base paths again in the 4th. After a solid line drive single Charlie would somehow score after a groundball error over at first base. The error would cost the Milton Dodgers the lead and finally tie the game at 4s after 5 innings.

Showing no signs of quit, the Milton Dodgers would promptly strike back in the top of the 6th. After a costly 2-out error over at 3rd base put a runner on for the Dodgers, Jakob Siracusa would step up and homer (2nd of the day) to center field, scoring two runs and giving the Milton Dodgers the lead, 6-4.

This seemed to finally wake the Sox bats up! With 1 out and the bases empty, Jordan Windisch would smash an oppostite field single to LF. Better Windisch would then promptly step up and hit a 2 run bomb of his own to CF. But the Sox were not done their. Josh Cossitt would then crush a double to right-centre. Toons and Kretz would both walk and that set up a bases loaded situation for father time himself, James Cossitt. A long QAB ensued and ultimately old man river would hit a sacrifice fly, scoring his junior, Josh Cossitt and securing the comeback win.

Doug Chrysler opened the game for the Burlington White Sox on the bump. The starter gave up three hits and four runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Errors would ultimately end ODCs day a little earlier then it should have. Dougie certainly deserved a better result then the score sheet indicates.

Dylan Grosul earned the win for the Sox. The righty surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings of relief, striking out six and walking none. Other then giving up an absolute nuke to Siracusa, Pedro was dominate in the win!

Shawn Draper took the loss for the Dodgers. The starter went five and one-third innings, giving up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking one.

The White Sox run game continues to be a team strength stealing 4 more bases in the game.

Jakob Siracusa was the game's first star! He drove the middle of the Dodger's lineup, leading Milton with four runs batted in. The cleanup hitter also went 3-for-3 on the day including 2 moon shots into the night!

The Sox have a lenghty break and then start a rough 9 game July. First up is a tilt against the Chihuahuas on July 2nd at Millcroft.
