Laser Show Returns After 2 Year Spiritual Hiatus!
He back! Dan-O, DC (non-original), the one and only Dan Cameron! With that, please ensure you hide your women, protect ya neck and for god's sake, wear a cup! After 2 years exploring the far north, DC returned for this contest against the Cambellville Rockies (of Waterdown).
The White Sox defeated the Rockies 10-1 on Tuesday at Millcroft Park. Alex "Toons" Pallottini seemed inspired by the return of his old battery mate as he amassed 3 hits and 3 base swipes to lead the Sox attack!
Tyler "better" Windisch would promptly welcome Dan-O back with 2 errors in the top of the 1st to allow the Rockies on the board with the 1st run of the game. Multiple reports immediately surfaced of long aggressive stares directed at 3rd base from a man wearing a glove on his head!
Dan Cameron started on the bump for Burlington. The left-handed pitcher gave up 3 hits and 1 run (0 earned) over two innings, walking one. The opener pitched well after 2 years on the shelf.
Jordan Stamp earned the win for Burlington. The lefty surrendered 2 hits and 0 runs over 5 innings, striking out 6 and walking 2. Stamp "played with his food" a little bit but generally looked good after a 4 week absence.
Stuart Martin took the loss for the Rockies. The right-handed fireballer went 5 innings, surrendering 9 runs (5 earned) on 12 hits, striking out 12 and walking one. Stuart deserved a much better fate then what the score shows. He is clearly one of the best arms in the entire league and with some better outfield defence (and offensive support), could have easily come out on top in the game! Tier 1 teams beware, the 1-2 punch of Martin and Cutara in a short playoff series will be a difficult tandem to defeat!
The Sox collected 15 hits in the game. Reco, Hodgson, Graham, Pedro, Stamp, Toons, and Moncur each drove in one run for Burlington. B-Mac and "better" Windisch each collected multiple hits for the Sox. Burlington ran wild on the base paths, tallying five stolen bases in 6 innings. Toons lead the squad with 3 of those stolen bases.
Matt MacLeod set the tone at the top of the Rockies lineup, leading them with 2 hits in 3 at bats.
Next up for the Burlington White Sox is a visit to Ireland Park against the Burlington Bandits.
