Uncle Reco Drives In 4, Stamp throws CG in Sox Win!
Justin "Uncle Reco" Recon drove in 4 runs on 2 hits (and 2 BBs) to lead the Burlington White Sox past the Burlington Bandits 12-2 on Sunday at Millcroft Park. Reco doubled in the 4th (scoring 2), singled in the 3rd (scoring 1), and walked in the 6th (scoring 1), capping a perfect day at the plate! The GHBL's most infamous uncle reached base in all 4 plate appearances!
Jordan Stamp earned the win for Burlington. The southpaw gave up 5 hits and 2 runs (1 earned) over 6 innings, striking out 5 and walking 1.
Ty Emsley took the loss for the Burlington Bandits. The starter went 4 innings, allowing 10 runs (5 earned) on 10 hits, striking out 3 and walking 4.
Matthew Calabro came in relief for Emsley. The hard throwing righty gave up 2 runs (0 earned) on 1 hit, striking out 2 and walking 3.
The White Sox tallied 11 hits in the game. Reco, Toons, and Moncur each collected 2 hits for Burlington. The Sox had patience at the plate, accumulating 7 walks for the game. Reco and Lucyshyn led the team with 2 free passes each. Toons also stole 2 bases on the day.
Bolton, Singh, Paige, Doyle, and Calabro each collected 1 hit for the Burlington Bandits. Singh and Rodwin were a 1-2 punch in the lineup, as each drove in 1 run for the Bandits.
