Selden Oilers Loses Despite Out Hitting Four Seam Falcons Maroon

Selden Oilers fell 2-1 to Four Seam Falcons Maroon on Sunday at Newfield High School despite out-hitting them six to five. Chris Brooks and Nick Oelcher each collected two hits for Selden Oilers.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Four Seam Falcons Maroon pitchers struck out 17, while Selden Oilers sat down 13.
An error put Selden Oilers on the board in the bottom of the first.
#45 grounded out, which helped Four Seam Falcons Maroon tie the game at one in the top of the fifth.
Four Seam Falcons Maroon took the lead in the top of the ninth. #11 doubled, scoring one run, to give Four Seam Falcons Maroon the advantage, 2-1.
Cal Luk opened the game for Selden Oilers. The starter allowed four hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking two.
Brooks went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Selden Oilers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Charles Aurandt had the most chances in the field with 11.
#11 led Four Seam Falcons Maroon with two hits in three at bats.
Selden Oilers will travel to Four Seam Falcons Maroon for their next game on Sunday.
