Game 2- Aul Bat Company Edges Bulldogs 1-0

Scoring would be slim in the first round match up of the visiting Bulldogs vs Aul Bat Company as the game was scoreless through the first four innings. Tom Bash, the veteran, starter for Aul Bat Company would get in trouble early giving up two singles to start the game but would work out of the jam after a double play and a runner was caught stealing. For the Bulldogs, Brent Herrmann would keep Aul Bat Co. off balance until the bottom of the 5th. Then, after a lead off walk, Casey jones would single to put runners on first and second with 1 out. The Bulldogs would get the second out , but Aul Bat Company would once again call on one of its most historic players, Joe Aul to come through in the clutch. He would do this with a single through the left side to score Traynor Janosko to give Aul Bat Co. the lead 1 - 0. This would be the only run scored of the game as Aul Bat Company would take the opening round game. Joe Aul would lead the way on offense collecting two hits and the games lone RBI. On the mound Bash would get the shut out tossing 7 innings surrendering only 6 hits while striking out 10 to add another masterful performance to his playoff career. For the Bulldogs Ryan Roell would lead the way on offense collecting 2 hits. Brent Herrmann suffered the tough luck loss pitching 6 innings allowing 1 run and only 4 hits while striking out 2. Aul Bat Company will now face Quinn Construction for a spot in the semi finals on Sunday July 20th, while the Bulldogs must await the loser of that game to keep its season alive.
