Game 6- Bulldogs Win 4-2 To Advance To Semi Finals

The Bulldogs squeaked by Aul Bat Company in their playoff rematch 4-2. This close contest followed up the two team's opening round pitcher's dual on Saturday that resulted in a 1-0 victory for Aul Bat Company. With the victory, the Bulldogs, in just their second season in the league, advance to their first ever semi final round appearance and will face off with Quinn Construction tomorrow evening. Tonight at Boyce Mayview, the Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, scoring one in the top of the 2nd. Zach Gray and Brian Deschon both reached on singles. Gray was brought home by a fielder's choice and an overthrow at first. The Bulldogs tacked on two more in the third. Jake Stotsky started off the inning with a walk and would score on a single from Ryan Roell. Mitch Robinson also reached on a single and then would be brought home by Clay Groff. The Bulldogs added one more in the 4th off of an Ian Velez single and Robinson RBI. Aul Bats put up a fight and scored one in both the 4th and 5th innings to cut the lead to 2. However, the Bulldogs pitching came through. Starter Dylan Pounds threw 5 strong innings, only giving up 2 runs (1 earned). Sean Kealey came in and shut it down, like he has all season, for the 2 inning save. Robinson went 3 for 3 on the day with a run and RBI for the Bulldogs. Casey Jones, Thomas Medwig and Patrick Aul all had 2 hit games for Aul Bat Company. Dante Yobbi stood out on defense for the Bulldogs by turning in two key plays in the late going. With two outs in the fifth, it looked like Aul Bat Company would cut further into the slim lead. But Yobbi was able to get quickly move to his right to smother a wickedly hit ground ball that looked like a sure fire single to right field. Then in the bottom of the seventh, the former basketball star used his rebounding skills to reach over the out of play fence in foul ball territory to snag a pop up the looked for sure to reach the stands, but instead ended up as the first out of the inning.
