Game 5- Netto's Gets Hot in Late Innings And Defeats USC

Ryan Ruffing collected three hits in three at bats, as Netto's Snack Shack defeated Upper St. Clair 7-3 on Monday and earns their first ever trip to the semi finals. Ruffing singled in the first inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the fourth inning. Upper St. Clair got on the board in the top of the first inning after Anthony DeFlippo singled to center field and Mike Bruckner grounded out, each scoring one run. Netto's Snack Shack took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Christian Hoffman doubled to center field, Andrew Cornetto also doubled to center field, Julio Rondon then singled down the right field line before Ryan Tierney singled to center field, each driving in one of the four runs in the lead changing inning. Nick Harhai earned the win for Netto's Snack Shack. The pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over two and one-third innings, striking out four and walking one. Zach Karp stepped on the bump first for Netto's Snack Shack. The starter gave up four hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking four. Netto's collected 10 hits in the game. Hoffman led Netto's with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The first baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Bruckner and DeFlippo were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Upper St. Clair. Josh Burlingame went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Upper St. Clair in hits. Upper St. Clair didn't commit a single error in the field. Brady Smith had the most chances in the field with six.
