Red Sox top Diablos
The Red Sox were cruising to a 6-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th before the Diablos countered with a Paxton Cudd 3 run homer and 2 more runs in the 8th to make it a 1 run game heading into the 9th when the Sox added two more and locked down in the bottom of the 9th for the 'W'.
The Sox offense was led by 3 hits apiece from Richie Pena and Troy Christian who both scored 2 runs, and Troy added 2 SB's.
Don McClain had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs, one via an important double in the 9th. Marty Campbell also had 2 hits on the day and Jamie Macek had 2 RBI's.
On defense both Red Sox Left fielder Jackson Tangen and Center fielder Jamie Macek had assists in the top of the first - a rare feat in any game. Frank Picha and Brian Stoltz brought the leather up the middle at 2nd and SS.
On the mound John Sosa tossed a gem, including 5 shutout innings to the start the game and issuing only 2 walks and limiting the Diablos to 7 hits.
