3 Rivers Barbershop Downs Bulldogs In 10 Hit Day
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 2 innings and 3 Rivers wouldn't respond until the top of the 4th when they would score 2 behind a Chris Rendulic single, Jimmy Knapton's triple and a Ben Lentz sac fly. 3 Rivers would tie it up in the 5th behind a Nate Colberg single, and yet another Rendulic single. The Bulldogs would plate one more in the 6th after a passed ball at the plate. 3 Rivers took the lead back for the final time in the 7th, kicking the inning off with a Mike Switala triple, who was knocked in by a 3rd Rendulic single. Noah Steinmetz, the youngest player in Port Vue's DNL history would give 3 River's the lead behind a double roped to center field. Mason Suss started the game for 3 Rivers and hurled 4 innings only allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, striking out 7. Jack Edner took it from there and was lights out to finish the final 3 innings. Edner only allowed 2 hits, 1 unearned run, walking 1 and striking out 4. Offensively 3 Rivers recorded 5 singles, 3 doubles, and 2 triples on the day. Rendulic led in the hits category with 3, followed by Brady McGough and Switala with 2 a piece. 3 Rivers will host Mt Lebanon on Monday 6/22 at PVAA.
