Adam Crawford And The Vipers Bring The Lumber Over Plum
The Allegheny Vision Vipers delivered a statement win on Friday night, overpowering the Plum Pterodactyls 11-3 at Whitaker Park behind a relentless offensive attack and strong pitching performance. Leading the charge was Adam Crawford, who turned in a monster performance at the plate. Crawford drove in four runs on three hits, including a towering three-run home run to right field in the third inning that broke the game open. He also got the Vipers on the board early with an RBI double in the first inning. The Vipers wasted no time taking control. Crawford's first-inning double gave Allegheny Vision a 1-0 lead and the offense never looked back. In the third inning, the Vipers exploded for four more runs. Crawfords three-run blast highlighted the rally before Dave Boehme added an RBI double to extend the lead to 5-0. While the offense was rolling, Jake Seymour was dominant on the mound. The right-hander earned the victory after allowing just one run on six hits over four innings while striking out five. Seymour attacked the strike zone all night and kept the Pterodactyls from generating any sustained momentum. Derrick Shields provided quality relief and picked up the save to help secure the win. The Vipers delivered the knockout punch in the seventh inning, plating five runs on five hits. Devin Donaldson came through with a two-run single, Zach Dugan followed with a two-run double, and the Vipers turned a comfortable lead into a rout. Allegheny Vision finished with an impressive 16-hit attack. Crawford, Dugan, Shaun Kellermann and Mac Ciocco each recorded three-hit performances, while Boehme added two hits of his own.
