Mudcats Outlast Vipers In The Heat
The Vipers struck first in the 1st inning when Adam Crawford singled, stole second, and scored on a Nick Arnoni single. Quinn Construction responded in the 2nd inning with four runs highlighted by doubles from Bert Kovalsky and Eric Morrison. An Elias Lippincott double in the bottom of the 2nd brought home Aaron Exler to cut the Mudcat lead to 4-2. The Vipers tied the game in the bottom half of the 3rd with a double from Arnoni and three consecutive singles to make it 4-4. With runners at first and second and two outs, the Mudcats turned to their bullpen and brought on Zane Griffaton. Griffaton ended the rally with a strikeout and then proceeded to retire the next nine batters he faced through the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings. Meanwhile, the Mudcats were adding runs with four runs in the 6th and three more in the 7th to put the game out of reach. The Mudcats offense was lead by Jim Pasquine, Jason Peterson, and Dylan Mallozzi who all had three hits apiece.
