Pasquines Bat Sparks Offensive Explosion
What was a close game in the 3rd inning turned into a one-sided affair. Quinn Construction struck first in the 1st inning when Eric Morrison drove home Jim Pasquine with a fielders choice. The Plum squad retaliated in the bottom half of the 1st inning with three runs off of starter Brody Simmons. The Mudcats would chip away in the 2nd inning by plating another run, making it 3-2. The Cats would then retake the lead in the 3rd with two more runs, making it 4-3. In the top of the 4th inning, Quinn Construction sent seventeen batters to the plate and scored thirteen runs to make it a lopsided game. The big blow in the inning was a Jim Pasquine home run that was disputed by the home team who believed the ball bounced over for a book rule double. Pasquine had a huge day for the victors going 4 for 4 with two doubles, a HR, and 4 RBIs. Eric Morrison also had a big day at the plate by contributing a single, two doubles and two RBIs. Tom Pullice had a single and a double for Plum. Brody Simmons was the lucky recipient of all the run support as he snagged the win to up his record to 4-0 on the season.
