Auggie Segarra Rips Walk-Off Double To Erase 3-1 Deficit

Ricky Dz jumped out to an early lead, plating two runs in the first inning behind a trio of singles from Dylan Schmude, Lucas Lybarger, and Miller. From there, 3 Rivers struggled to find grass until the bottom of the fourth. Battling a 100-degree fever, Ethan Steinmetz provided a massive spark by leading off the inning with a triple. He scored shortly after when Mike Switala hit a hard grounder to second, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Ricky Dz answered back in the top of the fifth, capitalizing on an errant throw to second base to scratch across an insurance run and extend their lead to 3-1. Down to their final at-bat in the bottom of the seventh, 3 Rivers mounted a dramatic comeback. Ben Lentz opened the frame by lining a rocket directly into the third baseman's glove for the first out. Undeterred, Brady McGough drew a four-pitch walk and Seth Olinsky was hit by a pitch to put two runners on. Ethan Rendulic then singled to center, loading the bases and bringing Auggie Segarra to the plate. With a 3-1 count, Segarra roped a bases-clearing double into the left-center gap, driving in all three runners to secure a walk-off victory for 3 Rivers. Lost in the late-game heroics was a masterclass on the mound by Jack Edner. Edner earned the complete-game win, turning in an excellent performance by allowing just two earned runs on four hits while racking up 10 strikeouts against three walks.
