Allegheny Vision Vipers Defeat South Park Ricky Dz

The Allegheny Vision Vipers rode a dominant performance on the mound from Nick Arnoni and timely offensive production to secure a 7-3 victory over the South Park Ricky Dz on Sunday afternoon in the first game of the twin bill at Baker Field. Arnoni was electric from the first pitch, striking out 11 hitters over seven strong innings. The left-hander battled through traffic throughout the day, allowing three runs on eight hits while consistently delivering big pitches when the Vipers needed them most. South Park struck first in the second inning when Alex Ashbery delivered an RBI single to give the Ricky Dz an early 1-0 advantage. The Vipers wasted little time responding; in the bottom half of the inning, Nico Knight came through with a clutch RBI single to center field, evening the score and igniting the Vipers offense. The game swung firmly in Allegheny Visions favor during a four-run third inning. Dave Boehme started the rally with an RBI double to left field before Devin Donaldson and Paul Connolly each delivered run-scoring singles. The Vipers added another run on a wild pitch, turning a one-run deficit into a commanding 5-1 lead. With Arnoni dealing on the mound, the Vipers continued to add insurance. In the sixth inning, Elias Lippincott brought the home crowd to its feet when he launched a two-run home run to right center field, extending the lead to 7-3 and putting the game out of reach. The Vipers offense finished with 11 hits on the afternoon. Adam Crawford and Knight each recorded multi-hit performances, while Lippincott drove in a team-high two runs with his sixth-inning blast. South Park was led offensively by Alex Ashbery and Lucas Lybarger, who each collected two hits. Ashbery, Lybarger, and Caputo each drove in a run for the Ricky Dz.
