Mets Pull Away Late for 10-4 Win Over Wright Field Reds
The Cincinnati Mets 50s scored four runs in the first inning and added three more in the seventh to defeat the Wright Field Reds 50s, 10-4.
Kyle Hensley led the Mets by going 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two stolen bases. Marty Heckard drove in three runs, while Jeff Brokamp collected two hits, including a double, and added two RBIs. Dave Bodnar also had two hits, one RBI, and two stolen bases as the Mets finished with 12 hits.
For the Reds, Chris Garrett and Wayne Wesley each recorded two hits. Woody Woodall, Chris Curtis, Mark Siler, and Matt Humphrey each drove in a run, and Lonnie Robinson added a double.
Brian Biggs threw a complete game to earn the win, allowing four runs, two earned, while holding the Reds scoreless over the final three innings.
