Seven-Run Second Inning Sends Expos Past Mets, 11-5
The Cincinnati Expos 50s used a seven-run second inning to build an early lead and defeat the Cincinnati Mets 50s, 11-5, on June 10 at Home of the Brave Park.
Brian Biggs and Shawn Sloan each collected two hits for the Mets. Sloan doubled and drove in a run, while Jeff Jackson added a double and two RBIs. Brian Koury and Dave Schultian also recorded RBI doubles as the Mets scored in four different innings.
After the Expos took a 9-0 lead through two innings, Brian Biggs kept the Mets within reach by allowing two runs over 5 1/3 innings of relief. The Mets chipped away at the deficit but could not overcome the Expos' early offensive surge.
