Mets Build Early Lead, Hold Off Colts for 8-5 Victory
The Cincinnati Mets 50s scored seven runs over the first three innings and held off a late Cincinnati Colts 50s rally for an 8-5 victory on June 28 at Riverside.
Shawn Sloan led the Mets with three hits and an RBI, while Dave Schultian went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Scott Klimkowski added two hits and two RBIs, and Ken Ecoffey finished with two hits and an RBI as the Mets collected 12 hits.
Schultian also earned the win on the mound, allowing just two hits over three scoreless innings while striking out three. Rick Reynolds worked the next three innings, and Jeff Brokamp pitched a perfect seventh to earn the save.
