Toons Leads Charge for Sox in Mercy Win Over A's
Alex "Toons" Pallottini collected 3 hits in 4 at bats, as the Burlington White Sox defeated the Milton A's 13-0 on Sunday night at Milton Sports Centre. Toons tripled in the 3rd inning, singled in the 3rd inning, and singled in the 1st inning.
The Burlington White Sox got on the board in the top of the 1st inning after Brett Graham doubled, and Tanner Hodgson singled, each scoring 1 run.
A fielder's choice by Doug Chrysler extended the Sox lead to 3-0 in the top of the 2nd inning.
The White Sox won thanks mostly to 10 runs in the 3rd inning. an error scored 1 run, Tanner Hodgson singled, scoring 1 run, J-Lay doubled, scoring 1 run, Dante Federico grounded out, scoring 2 run, another error scored 1 run, Jordan Stamp singled, scoring 2 runs, Pallottini singled, scoring 2 runs, and Hodgson doubled, scoring 1 run.
Sean Kretz earned the win for Burlington. The Sox most reliable hurler gave up 1 hit and 0 runs over 3 innings, striking out 5 and walking 1.
Jordan Stamp finally graced the Sox with his presence and threw 2 innings of shutout ball for Burlington in relief. The southpaw surrendered 0 hits, striking out 5 and walking 0.
The Sox piled up 14 hits in the game. Tanner Hodgson drove the middle of the lineup, leading Burlington with 3 runs batted in. The right fielder went 3-for-3 on the day.
