Reds win a close game 3-2
Both teams were strong on the bump on Sunday, but the Reds defeated the Bergen Pirates 3-2. RJ Mancinelli started the game for the Reds and recorded 10 outs.
The Reds didn't take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at two in the top of the fifth when Jael Santos hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. The Bergen Pirates opened the scoring in the third after #20 hit a solo home run to left field. The Reds took the lead in the top of the fourth. Jason Moore doubled, scoring two runs, to give North Haledon the edge, 2-1. #11 singled to center field, which helped Bergen Pirates tie the game at two in the bottom of the fourth.
Corey Mulholland earned the win for the Reds. The hurler gave up two hits and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. RJ Mancinelli started the game for the Reds. The pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over three and one-third innings, striking out five and walking two. #4 started on the hill for Bergen Pirates. The starter surrendered six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out three and walking two. Kyle Rodgers collected the save striking out the side in the bottom of the 7th . Scott VanEs threw one inning of scoreless ball for North Haledon Reds in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out two with on hit batter.
Moore led the Reds with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. Moore went 1-for-3 on the day. Evan Thomas, Moore, Christian Pelaez (triple), Dan Limone, Jake Szabo, Santos, and Michael Barravecchio each collected one hit for North Haledon Reds. The North Haledon Reds didn't commit a single error in the field. Szabo had the most chances in the field with 13.
#20, #33, #11, #16, and #29 each collected one hit for Bergen Pirates. #20 and #11 each drove in one run for Bergen Pirates. Bergen Pirates were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
Next up for North Haledon is a game against the Hackensack Troasts on Tuesday at home.
