Bulldogs Force Game Three
It was a back and forth offensive battle in game two between the Bulldogs and Quinn Construction. The Bulldogs bats jumped out to a quick start scoring three in the bottom of the first, when Stefan Mrkonja hit a bases clearing double. Quinn answered right back with 2 in the top half of the second. Dylan Mallozzi singled, Aiden Munsie walked, and both were driven in by Corey Kuszaj. The Bulldogs fired right back in the bottom of the 2nd with two of their own to extend the lead back to 3. Clay Groff walked, followed by a single by Andrew Vincent. Groff scored on a single by Cesar Villegas. Vincent and Villegas advanced on a weird hop in the outfield that got past the center fielder. Issac Santana hit a grounder up the middle that took another Bulldog hop on the shortstop to score Vincent. The Bulldogs got greedy and tried to sneak a run by sending Villegas but the shortstop recovered and he was gunned down at home. The scoring continued in the third, both teams putting up a run to make the score 6-3. In the 4th, Quinn had a big 3 run inning to even the score at 6. Munsie was hit by a pitch, stole second and then was driven in by a single off the fence in right by Jim Pasquine. Jason Peterson followed up with a 2 run home run to right center. The Bulldogs answered again in the fifth, putting up 3 to make the score 9-6. Mitch Robinson led off the inning reaching on an error, followed by a single from Santana, and scored on a double from Gray. Santana tried to score on a fly ball to left by Mrkonja but was thrown out at the plate by Munsie. Brenden Gray walked to make it first and second with 2 outs. Jake Stotsky hit a hard one hopper at the shortstop that took an advantageous Bulldog hop to load the bases. Brian Deschon followed with another grounder to the shortstop which should have ended the inning but an error by the first baseman on the throw allowed 2 runs to score. Quinn Construction continued to fight back, putting up another run in the 6th to cut the lead to 9-7, but in the bottom half the Bulldogs kept the bats going and put up two more to extend the lead to 11-7. Connor Davis came into the game in the 7th to close out the game and keep the bulldogs season alive. Santana, Villegas, Mrkonja, and Zach Gray all had 2 hit games for the Bulldogs. Peterson and Dylan Kugler led Quinn offensively, each having 2 extra base hits.
