Cubs hold on to beat Mets
With the wind blowing out (for the Mets), the Culver Cubs did just enough to hold on to a 14-10 victory.
11 Cubs batted in the 2nd inning to push 7 runs across. Led by Jaime Miranda (1-2,3r) Jordan French (2-3,r,rbi) and A "rested" Steve Birkett (2-3,2 2b,r,3 rbi) Culver City jumped to an 11-4 lead. But 3 long Mets HRs almost brought them all the way back. Justin Collins hit his 3rd and 4th Homeruns OF THE WEEKEND (6th/7th innings)to cut the lead to 12-10 late.
But with time ticking away, the Cubs would rally with 2 in the last inning to insure victory.
