Mudcats Comeback With Walkoff Win
Quinn Construction was hanging on to a 3-2 lead entering the 7th inning but Aul Bat Co. put up a 3-spot on pitcher Josh Hoffman to make it 5-3 in favor of Aul. In the bottom of the 7th, relief pitcher Chris Aul got two quick outs but then walked Hoffman. Point Park standout, Ed Pfluger then smacked a double down the left field line putting runners at second and third. Aul Bat Co decided to intentionally walk Jim Pasquine and put the winning run on first. That move backfired as Aul walked Tarran Senay, AJ Olasz, and Nick Riggle to end the game. Pfluger did well in his DNL debut as he smacked a single and two doubles, scored three runs, stole a base, and gunned down a runner at the plate from left field. AJ Olasz earned the win in relief of Hoffman.
