Game 15- Quinn Construction Comes Back For Game One Victory

Quinn Construction took a 1-0 lead in the DNL finals last night with an 8-5 victory over the Titans. The Titans jumped on Quinn Construction starter Corry Ryan with three runs in the first inning. A walk, three consecutive hits and then a costly error gave the Titans an early 3-0 lead. The Mudcats responded in the bottom of the 1st inning however with two runs of their own. Ed Pfluger lead off with a double. Jim Pasquine got plunked and then consecutive walks to Eric Morrison and AJ Olasz brought home Pfluger with the first run. Pasquine scored the second run on a straight steal of home to make it 3-2. The Titans stretched their lead to 4-2 in the 3rd inning. Dan Boehme reached on an error and then came home on Nick Bernick's single. The Titans almost made it 5-2 but the Mudcats were able to turn the 6-4-3 double play to end the inning. In the bottom of the 4th, Quinn Construction took the lead 5-4 with the help of a costly error and some free passes. The Titans tied it up in the 5th when Zach Murray singled and then courtesy runner Talan Kammermeier came all the way around to score on Joe Killian's slicing double down the right field line. Quinn Construction put the game away in the bottom half of the 6th with a three spot. Bert Kovalsky and Angelo Volomino drew consecutive walks. Both runners came around to score on Chance Satcho's triple into the left center gap. Satcho made it 8-5 when he tagged up on a sac fly from Logan Simmons. Pasquine earned the win for Quinn Construction in relief of Ryan. Pasquine came on in the 5th inning and retired all seven batters he faced. Quinn Construction only had four hits in the game but drew ten walks and was hit by a pitch six times. Nick Arnoni was tagged with the loss in relief of starter Josh Peters.
