Rays score 3 in 7th to tie game & literally walk off in 9th
The Cardinals scored 4 in the 2nd and led 5-0 after 4 innings as Corey Miller shutdown the Rays on 2 hits. The Rays pulled within one in the 5th on an RBI double by Keith Garrigan and a 3-run homer by Gary Blaylock, but the Cardinals squeaked out runs in the 6th and 7th to take a 3-run lead into the bottom of the 7th. The stage for the comeback was set when the first 2 Rays reached base to start the 7th. A single with an error allowed the first run to score, then a second run scored on a fielder's choice, with the tying run scoring on a sac fly. The Rays got the winning run to 3rd base, but the Cardinals escaped the jam to send the game into extra innings. Neither team could score in the 8th, and Roga Rangel held the Cards scoreless in the top of the 9th. The Rays would win in the bottom of the 9th without putting the ball in play with 3 consecutive walks to score the Manfred Man from 2nd base for the win!
Mike Grady and Brandon Kramer each had 2 hits for the Cardinals. For the Rays, Tommy Hartlaub and Keith Garrigan had 2 hits.
