Rockets win in bottom seeded classic The matchup that was scheduled to debut the NOBL 6 campaign finally was played. A much anticipated battle of the West's and East's lowest seeds lived up to the hype. Although both teams had great moments and flashes of good basketball, both also had some poor shooting and questionable passing at times. The Rockets led for much of the first half and 2nd but the Hawks remained close. Late in the game, the Hawks finally managed to take the lead inside 2. There the Rockets would struggle on several straight possessions to score. Inside 2, the Rockets began fouling, the Hawks could not hit free throws. With several chances to put it away, the team couldn't do it. Ultimately going 1-7 from the line. The Rockets were down 1 with about 20 left, and a wild scramble play to Matt Smith gave them the lead. The Hawks tried to answer but missed the free throws that could have tied or gave them the lead, both rimmed out. The Rockets got the ball with 3 seconds left and needed to play keep away, they set a double screen got Weiler open as he dribbled out the clock, giving the Rockets the battle for pride and giving another devastating loss to the Hawks.
