F.O.E. Elite Holds the Line, Turns Back BTA's Furious Rally F.O.E. Elite Holds the Line, Turns Back BTA's Furious Rally By Gary Pearson Turner GOSHEN, NY - In a game that looked like a runaway at the break and a panic attack by the buzzer, F.O.E. Elite dug deep and refused to fold, fending off a frantic second-half push from BTA Elite to win an all-heart 38-36 grinder on Court 1. Yeah, it was ugly. It was scratch-and-claw basketball. But when the smoke cleared and the final inbound was tapped into safety, it was F.O.E. that stood tallest ' not because they were perfect, but because they bent without breaking. Down 25-16 at the half, F.O.E. came out of the locker room with one thing on their mind: get stops, get rebounds, and grind BTA down to dust. Mission accomplished. Dylan Perez led the resistance with sheer will - 9 points, 14 boards, and a motor that wouldn't quit. If there was a missed shot, he was around it. If there was a loose ball, he dove. His work on the glass - especially in the early minutes of the second half - set the tone for F.O.E.'s comeback. Na'Keem Janvier poured in 11, giving them crucial points when everything else seemed jammed. Tyace Thompson was the x-factor late, cool at the line, active on defense, and tough under pressure. His 9 points were loud - not in volume, but in impact. Quincy Surpris, Just call him The Shield. Five points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and more defensive closeouts than you could count. He did everything except run the scoreboard, and even then, he was why the scoreboard flipped. With about three minutes left, BTA Elite stormed back behind deep threes from Jethro Chapman III and gutsy drives by Justin Hanibal. They trimmed the lead down to a single possession - the gym got tight, voices got louder, and BTA started to believe. But belief only gets you so far. F.O.E. answered with rebounds. With ball movement. With stops that snapped BTA's rhythm in half. When it mattered most, they didn't flinch. They got the ball where it needed to go. They hit just enough free throws. And then they walked off with a win that felt earned the hard way. F.O.E. may not have had the highlight plays. But they had the highlight moment - walking off the court after surviving a storm they refused to let wash them away.
