Sullivan Buckets Hold Off BBL in Nail-Biter to Open the Day In a thrilling opener on Court 2, the Sullivan Buckets edged out BBL, 51-50, in a defensive battle that came down to the final possessions. With physical play, second-chance efforts, and clutch buckets throughout, both teams gave the crowd an early-morning classic. Samuel Omitiran powered the Buckets with 19 points and a dominant 9 rebounds, battling in the paint and providing the inside scoring presence his team needed. Sayvion Daniel added 12 points and 3 assists, using his strength to get to the rim and keep the pressure on the BBL defense. Ronnie Totten chipped in 9 points and 3 steals, adding a spark on both ends of the floor. Riley Totten added 7 points and hit one of the team's two threes on the day, while Chance Bibbo and Mark York provided key hustle plays and solid rebounding in support roles. Sullivan's defense was active throughout, forcing turnovers and holding off a late BBL rally. BBL showed tremendous ball movement and grit in the comeback effort. Dylan Williams led the team with 16 points, knocking down two three-pointers and grabbing 7 rebounds in an all-around effort. John Mattera contributed 10 points, 6 rebounds, and a key block, giving BBL toughness in the post. Louis Marrero added 11 points and 4 assists, showing range with a pair of threes, while Max Earl chipped in 9 points and stayed active on the boards. Cameron Gerow and Glenn Finke combined for 6 assists and steady ball-handling, helping BBL rack up an impressive 19 team assists. Despite the loss, BBL?s team-oriented approach and strong finish were encouraging. Sullivan's ability to build an early lead and grind out the win under pressure proved to be the difference in a back-and-forth battle between two competitive squads.
