Lapwai continued its unbeaten tear through the Whitepine League Division I boys basketball field, handling Prairie of Cottonwood behind a triple-double from Kase Wynott for a 69-39 victory on Tuesday. The Wildcats (13-2, 8-0) went up 19-5 through the opening quarter and outscored the Pirates (4-6, 1-6) in each frame. Wynott totaled 22 points, 20 rebounds and 12 assists, while teammate Ahlius Yearout provided 19 points and five boards, Joseph Payne scored 14, and Christopher Bohnee provided 11 points plus three steals. Prairie was led by Lee Forsmann with 12 points and Briggs Rambo with 10. This result was left out of Wednesday?s area roundup due to a staff error.
