Woffords early start holds on over Virginia
Virginia came into the game excited about their deadline trade getting former teammate Nick DeFeo to pair with Brandon Feinstein and Alex Corry, however they did not anticipate a wrist injury that had their captain in what looked like a cast (operation performed by Doctor COB pre-game). By the time Virginia could get used to the wrist injury and new look, Wofford was already up 27-7. Wofford did not miss in the early going and when they did they cleaned it up immediately. Player of the game Matt Brickman completely dominated the interior and the glass with his 12 points and 17 rebounds to go along with his 3 blocks locking all windows and doors on the Cavs. Wofford continues to look great as Virginia looks for redemption against Wofford just one day later. Wofford may have sealed their ticket to the dance as Virginia is nearly on the outside looking in.
