New Look Hawks come back from 15 behind Commish career day The Hawks finally looked like a team. After a season in which the team was in dissaray and disheartened the team showed some spirit. The newly acquired Sean Bradin and Paul Bresch showed great flashes together in their roles. The Spurs meanwhile, looked like a juggernaut early, leading by 15. The Hawks cut the lead down to 11 at half with a Commish drive and bucket at the buzzer to gain momentum. The first few minutes of the second half the Hawks came out ready, with several fast breaks and tough finishes on great looks to the middle. The Spurs were able to compose themselves enough to still lead by 5+ frequently.Until the last few minutes where the Hawks would take the lead. A big late basket by Delattre put the Spurs up 1. The Hawks got the ball back and had an open layup look but it rimmed out, giving the Spurs the ball back and sending them to the free throw line. The Spurs would hit 1 of 2, giving themselves a 2 point lead with under 26. There after a failed inbound play, Flaherty would get the ball, drive and throw up a wild layup and score with under 4 seconds remaining. The Spurs had a look at the buzzer for the win but it rimmed out sending the game to OT. In OT the Hawks had more energy but still trailed a little under 2 left, but tied it up. There again Flaherty would hit a very vital tough layup to give the team the lead they would not relinquish. A few rough turnovers and several tough misses ended the game, giving the Hawks the wildest and most needed of comebacks.
