Immortal Rolls in Season-Opener
Immortal, back for their second season and captained again by Ryan Waters, rolled to an easy victory in their opening contest on Saturday over Silent Seven, winning by the score of 75-6.
Anthony "Live" Watson took over the offense and threw for five scores and ran in another. Darian Twyman had a big day for his new team, catching five balls for four scores. Kyle Jenkins added a receiving touchdown. Zahir Dunell was welcomed to his new team, and also found the endzone with a rushing score. Team newcomer Khairi Carson had a pair of two-point conversions, while Rahj Dixon, Will Johnson, and Waters all had a one-point conversion for the offense.
Defensively for Immortal, Waters continued his dominance on the defensive line with three sacks. Dixon joined him with two for his own. Both men recorded a safety each. Dixon and Jay Mensah both had two interceptions and Twyman had one -- all three scored a defensive touchdown apiece.
For Silent Seven, Ken Alguire had their lone score on a rushing touchdown. He also completed two passes, while Anthony Blaine completed one.
Alguire and Deshaun Knox both registered sacks in the loss.
Next week, Immortal (1-0) faces off against Backyard Ballers (0-1), while Silent Seven (0-1) squares off against The Mob (0-0).
