Raptors Roar
In their opening contest of the season, the new-look Raptors jumped out to an early first-half lead and were able to hold on for the 40-24 victory over the Backyard Ballers.

Kyle Simpson stood behind center and went 6-for-15 with two touchdowns through the air and one on the ground in the win. New additions Joe Chihany and Kyle Plesh each caught passes through the air for a score. Plesh also caught a two-point conversion

Defensively, Vic Munett had a sack that went for a safety and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Avery McClure had two interceptions, returning both to the end zone. Jamie Webb added an interception in the win.

For the Backyard Ballers, Jagar MacDonald was 8-for-19 and a touchdown, while also running in a score. Damon Stern also saw action at quarterback, going 3-for-3 with a touchdown. Andrew Coolbaugh and Louie Michaels were on the receiving end of the touchdown passes.

Stern caught picked off two passes defensively, while Michaels added a pick-six.

The Raptors (1-0) look to make it a winning streak next week when they face The Mob (0-0). The Backyard Ballers (0-1) will do battle with Silent Seven (0-1) on Saturday.
