Shamrock rally but fall short , Coaches Proud
The BCAC Pee Wee Shamrocks traveled to West Babylon last Sunday for a 10AM game.
On the Shamrocks 1st possession, QB Mario Cimino handed off to RB Danny Hoff who followed great blocks by fellow RB’s Jordan Jessup, Robert Kollmer, WR Theo Stathis, TE Christian Paulich, OL Anthony Russo, Charlie Bostwick, Kyle Hilgendorf, Keith Servello, Tyler Runolfsson and center Matt Ostrander for a 58 yard TD and an early 6-0 Shamrock lead.
The Defense ran onto the field ready for WB led by, DE’s Jordan Jessup, Michael Torres, DL Patrick Minihane, Charlie Bostwick, Cameron Manzi, Richard Wood, Liam Malsy, Michael Krzyzanowski, OLB Steven Kenny, MLB Robert Kollmer, OLB Anthony Cimino, FS Luke Hanning and SS Bobby Martin. WB tried to run up the middle but was stuffed by the Shamrocks gang tackling led by Jessup, Kollmer, Cimino, Bostwick and Kenny and forced a turnover on downs.
On the next few series both Offenses committed turnovers, the Shamrocks recovered a forced fumble by Kollmer. The Shamrock Offense led by RB Hoff and excellent blocking by the entire offense scored 2 TD’s (20 & 60 Yards) for an 18-13 Shamrock halftime lead.
The Defense opened up the 3rd Quarter read and quickly forced a 3rd and 8, WB ran a reverse, Jessup forced a fumble but the Shamrock D lost sight of the Football and WB recovered and ran in a TD for a 19-18 lead
Both defenses made stops but WB scored on a sweep for a 25-18 lead with less than 4 minutes remaining, the defense had to stop the XP and they stuffed the middle led by Bostwick, Jessup, Maro and Anthony Cimino and Kollmer and the XP was no good.
The Shamrock Offense ran out ready to score. Jordan Jessup (22, 12, 5), Paulich (10) and Hoff (12, 5) led the ground game bringing the ball to the WB 5 yard line with 38 seconds left. Hoff ran a sweep and scored his 4th TD of the game cutting the lead to 25-24. Mario Cimino faked a handoff to Jessup and threw to Theo Stathis for the XP and a 25-25 tie.
With 30 seconds left, WB ran a sweep for a loss, on their last play they ran a reverse and the Shamrocks defense just missed the RB and he scored for a 31-25 lead as time expired.
The coaches are very proud of their Shamrock players for playing a great game and never giving up. They displayed great sportsmanship throughout the game which is more important than wins and losses.
