Flyers Drop Second Game to Pittsburgh 5-0

Not a great effort by the team for this game after the first period. I thought we came out playing well, but by the second period we were back to sloppy DZone play and missed passes.

The will to compete hard just wasn't there for our guys and it showed on most shifts.

The one thing that really stood out to me was our inability to win face-offs. We won only eight and lost an astounding 27 face-offs. This inability caused us to never have the opportunity to control the play. We were constantly chasing and defending. Winning face-offs is such a critical part of the game and Pittsburgh owned the circles all day.

We know we have to perform better in these Elite league games, and we will continue to build our skills and strength, so that we can play better and be stronger when the showcase in October comes around.

Two very important games on the schedule for next weekend. Saturday is the rematch with the Minutemen and then Sunday a combination game against the NJ Rockets that will count in the standings for both the AYHL and the Elite league.
