Big Lake, Alaska December 26, 2010 4:53:06 AM Entry ID: 1854330 | I was on Facebook one day and I ran across the son of one of the greatest coaches that I personally had the honor to be coached by, that coach was Paul Chitwood. I played on the 1979 undefeated Fontana Falcons and that year I also had the honor of playing football with some well known names around the Fontana area like, just to name a few Greg and Brian Colbrunn, Chuckie Carr, Matt Coon, Les Dayton(this guy would hit you like a mack truck). So anyway I caught up with Cary Chitwood after going through some old pictures and I just had to send him that 1979 team photo and Cary was thoughtful enough to form a group on Facebook called Fontana Falcons. I'm really here to say, thanks Cary, after I saw what he did I then rans across this site dedicated to The Great Fontana Falcons and when I saw the win/loss records out of 40 yrs. I really do feel speacial in being able to be part of that great statistic. Keep fighting for that level Falcons and never give up. This is something my older brothers who also played Fontana football and I'm the youngest of five boys. They taught me these few words to play by because at that age it's really not win or lose just have fun, this was the age where it's HIT OR BE HIT. Those other players,(our opponents) were out there to hurt someone. It's the age Champions were those who were the toughest. Keep that in mind future Falcons,"HIT OR BE HIT".
