A Grateful Parent DMV April 24, 2013 8:06:09 PM Entry ID: 2028129 | So today my daughter was inducted into the National Junior Honors Society. You enter at the end of 7th grade but aren't really in it until the 8th. If you maintain what got you there then you enter the actual National Honors Society in 9th - 12th. Its more than academics. Why am I telling you guys this.....because I found out that my wife specifically mentioned Havoc on her application. Then today I was told that the amount of practice hours and travel really stood out. Her being able to maintain a 3.5 GPA or above in all advanced classes while playing on a successful basketball team was huge. It referenced her coming home sometimes at 10:30/11 o'clock and then directed them to the website to which they read your mission statement. Out of her class of over 300 kids only 10% got in. There were a lot of kids that applied and had the grades (some higher than my daughters) but only 10% got in. I thought its a good example of how you guys help kids outside of basketball. I see the difference you've made and continue to make in the lives of the girls on each team. We thank James and Tiffany Washington not only for Havoc but for being good role models for my kid. No motives, no hidden agendas....just an honest thank you. |
