Yesterday Demitrius got selected for one of the 11 available spots on his school's boys basketball team at Valley Christian. He made it out of 40 other students trying out. I just want to say that his selection was largely due to your hard work with him on skills earlier this year over at Parkview. Nadia and I really appreciate the time and dedication that you provided to him. We'll look to send him your way again soon for some skills clinics and practices. Because of your program I have had the privileged of watching two youth from our program become more and more motivated to make better choices for themselves. I believe that since these youth have met you they have made many changes in their personal lives. Both of these youth seem to have more optimism about their future and are wanting to better to better themselves not only in Football, but in their home life and their outlook on their education. I have Never seen such dramatic changes in such a short amount of time among any youth that I have worked with in my 30 plus years of working in the Mental health field. You have won my respect, sir. Even when I played for another team, and skipped practices' you gave me a chance to play for the Hill toppers academy when I did not deserve it. I thank you coach for never losing faith in me and helping me become a better basketball player and man of god. Thank you for the countless number of life lessons you have given to me and shown me how to act and think like a man. They're are many lessons I've learned in Kansas, the most important is that you will never give up on me, and showed me how to better myself and not want others to do it for me. Second is what I need to perfect and put time into my game, you are 100 percent correct I believe I can't do a lot of things and I run away from the situation, but in Kansas when you told the team, and I that you will not count are mistakes and let us play I felt as if I didn't have to worry about making mistakes and getting chewed out after the game. For are last game I apologize It was a lack of energy and laziness and I did not do my best I wanted others to carry my wait, and felt as if I would never be able to play like when I played my best game. So, I created challenges that I will follow for a long time till I learn how to fix them. One is to believe in my self and try new things, and not to hold back in fear but fail and give 100%, second is to learn to favor the uncomfortable moments. During my best game I wanted you to take me out during the 4th quarter cause I was afraid to lose the game with turnovers or play bad defense, but I learned that with confidence and thinking about the game I could actually help my team when the game is on the line and not lose it for us. I can't thank you enough coach for giving me what so much other kids cherish from a coach which is Love, Faith, and helping me even when I turn my back and don't deserve your compassion. I thank you for letting me be part of a team that I can call my family, and I look forward to the years to come of learning and getting better in the game of basketball with an amazing man helping me peruse my dream. I know there were some hiccups and issues, but it takes a lot of effort and support to make such a huge undertaking happen. Kudos to you and your family.
