Miami June 7, 2020 12:02:28 PM Entry ID: 2130071 | My name is Michelle Atherley and I am currently a student athlete at the D1 college, the University of Miami. I had the plesure of joining the fast lane family my senior year of highschool, altering the trajectory of my life more than I knew. With just two years of track and field experience Fast lane made me into an indoor and outdoor New balance all American in the pentathlon and the Heptathlon. I came second in the hurdles at the 3A state championship and went on to earn a scholarship to Auburn University with the guidence of Derek Walker. During my time at Auburn I became and remain the pentathlon record holder, placing top three in the SEC indoor conference championships and achieving all American status at the 2016 Indoor NCAA Championships. I was second team all American in the 400 hurdles and 4x100meter relay during the 2016 outdoor NCAA Championships. I also became an SEC all academic. I transferred to the University of Miami and continued to be a mentor for the future of Fastlane. I am the 2019 D1 NCAA Pentathlon National Champion. I am the 2017 and 2019 ACC pentathlon champion and All American as well as the 2018 and 2019 outdoor ACC Heptathlon champion and All American, placing top 3 in the Heptathlon at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championship. I am the University of Miami's Pentathlon and Heptathlon record holder. I was the 2017, 2018, 2019 indoor ACC Championship field athlete MVP a long with the 2019 ACC field athlete of the year 2018 ACC championship outdoor field athlete MVP. I was a member of the 2017 and 2019 track and field women's ACC indoor championship Team and the 2018 track and field women's ACC outdoor championship Team. I was the 2019 ACC Indoor Track and Field Scholar Athelet of the Year. I completed at the 2019 USA Championships, placing 7tg in the Heptathlon. have been blessed to represent team USA in the 2019 Thorpe Cup in Germany. All of these accomplishments represent the amazing support and guidence of Fastlane track club. This track club gave me a space to refine my craft and learn to love the sport of track and field. I can say with full confidence that I would not be where I am without this track club. Thank you Derek Walker for giving me a chance to be the athlete you knew I could be and constantly being a support system for your athelets. |

SavannahGA June 7, 2020 7:59:39 AM Entry ID: 2130068 | Fast Lane Track Club is more than just your “average track club”, it’s a family, it’s a lifestyle. I joined fast lane back when they started up in 2007 and it was one of the best decisions of my life and set me up for where I am today. During my time on the team coach walker helped me become a better athlete and person and was always there for me. Sophomore year of high school I broke my leg and thought my track career was over. Coach Walker was at the hospital that night to tell me everything was going to be okay. Junior year I was back at New Balance Nationals and finished 6th overall. I was later recruited to schools such as Embry Riddle, United States Naval Academy, Tulane, FSU, and United States Military Academy. I accepted my offer and admission to run for West Point and would have never had the opportunity without being apart of this team. Today I am a Captain in the United States Army, serving as an Armor Officer and would never have had this opportunity if it wasn’t for this family I was lucky to be apart of. |

I am forever grateful that Coach Walker is willing to take time even out of his personal life to help train and make us better. |

As soon as you step on the track the team treats you like family and Coach Walker takes you in as his own. He treats each teammate like his own child and he would do anything for us. The amount of time he dedicates to all of us is unmatched by any other coach. I have made some of the best memories traveling and competing with this team and the training I have received has prepared me for all of it. The confidence I have gained on and off of the track I can confidently say has all come from this team and my amazing coaches (especially coach walker). I wouldn't trade this team for the world and the lessons I have learned here I will carry with me for the rest of my life. |

Coach Walker is an excellent coach for Track & Field. I truly thank Coach Walker for pushing me and training me as a young athlete. Fast Lane Track Club is an amazing Track Club to run for, there is a lot of competition on this track team. The other coaches are good coaches as well. If you ever feeling like quitting Coach Walker will always be the person on the side of you cheering you on and tell you to keep going. Coach Walker has truly helped me in being a athlete. If you were considering to run Track & Field and you are looking for a Track Club this is the best track club that you are going to find. |

Delray Beach July 29, 2016 10:44:52 PM Entry ID: 2076868 | After competting in States for high school, my mom told me "I just finished talking to coach walker and I'm signing you and Hannah up for this track club" I was like nooo I'm done with track I'm tired of running. But when I got to know coach walker he accepted me and my sister as family and helped us to become better athletes and a better individual person. This was my first year running for any track club and I actually liked Fast Lane. We got a chance to travel throughout Florida, add more medals to my collection, and helped me get more phone numbers. Running for fast lane was a blast and I'm planning to do it next year |
