The guys in charge were just trying to do what all other area teams do. Albion is the only league around that has 13yr olds against 7 and 8 year olds. The thinking behind it was to hopefully encourage younger players to join. As it is we had such poor turn out at both levels we know have to combine teams to make teams. I do hear your concern about needing to be in more than one place at a time but that has nothing to do the coaches really now does it. I choose to have my kids participate in more than one sport and with that choice I have to make sacrafices and I don't plan anyone but myslef when I get stressed. I do hope that your children have registered for 2007 and that they have a GREAT season. That they learn the fundamentals of the game and have a great VOLUNTEER coaching them. What I hope doesn't happen is, that you will be complaining if and when your child gets beamed by a 13 year old pitcher with a hard FAST ball who lacks the ability to control each and ever pitch that he throws! With that, scaring them enough that they never want to step in that batters box again. Now that's what the age division thing was all about. |

| anupsetmom albion February 24, 2007 10:20:56 PM Entry ID: 1058924 | i would like to know who came up with this CRAZY idea of splitting up the kids by age group?! i have a few questions on this idea- 1. who came up with this ridiculous idea? who got to vote all of you coaches or just a select few-like those you knew would vote for it? 2. who's going to pick up my younger son get him to and from practice for me-i am a single parent. 3. who's going to attend both games for me? i am a single parent 4. who will take care of my child if he is hurt and i am at another field with my other son-i am a single parent. 5. how is my younger son going to learn properly-we all know that coaches teach differently so why should my younger son suffer because he can't be with the same coach from bat boy to the end of his little league career. 6. who are the younger boys suppose to learn from ? not just their coaches-they learn from the older-more experienced boys on the team-and since there will be none of those-??? 7. who is going to help me take my daughter to her functions since you expect me to run 6 nites a week with my 2 boys-i am still a single parent. 8. when are you going to have a meeting on this so called great new rule you have come up with so the we parents can attend and voice our opinion-or are you afraid to hear our opinion? 9. do any of you rule makers have more than 1 boy that will be playing ball and affected by this rule? will you have to tell 1 or more of your children they won't be able to do their sport this yr-maybe next yr we can trade kids 10. why was this rule invented- are we afraid of certain teams? 11. don't you think their is enough lack of kids wanting to play ball without making 'rules' that make it impossible for some of us parents to spead ourselves that thin and have to pick and choose which child gets to participate in their sport this year because there is just no way we can be in 2 or 3 places at the same time. I really hope to find some answers on this site soon. I'd say thank you but i really can't thank you for making life alot crazier than it already is and making my children very unhappy. |

Also thanks to the great coaching staff-Greg, Jeff, Wayne, Mark & Bob for all the time and effort you put into our kids and this team! You have made us proud once again!
