I was wondering if I've missed the deadline for entering a team for this season? I see that the scheduling meeting has already passed. If I have not missed the deadline, what's the minimum roster size? (I see that there are a minimum of three women required.) Thanks,

I am 22 years old and I am very interested in trying to get onto a softball team for the spring/summer. I played some college ball, and I wouldn't be a liability to any team! Can you please let me know if there is any possibility in joining a team, or if you have any contact information for any managers please let me know. Thank you!

Hi... I am inquiring about entering a coed team.... Is it too late to try and enter a team for this spring? Just thought of this idea and several from our company are interested in playing... Thanks.

I know this is really really really last minute, but I'm looking to put together a softball team and I only just came across your website tonight. Is it still possible to enter a team? If so, when and where are games? How much is the league? How many people can be on the roster? If it's still possible to join, should we attend the meeting at Red Rock? I apologize for the 11th hour email. If you could respond to this email and the CCed address that would be great so I can view it at work. Thanks,

Liz (elizabeth.hatherley@huskymail.uconn.edu)

I saw your website while looking for evening softball leagues in Hartford. My firm may be willing to form a team (we have plenty of potential players), and from the looks of your site, your league would be what I am looking for. Can you give me any more information about whom to contact or talk to about joining? I noticed your meeting tomorrow night at Kenneys. Would this be a good meeting to come to for more information, or is it too late? Please feel free to call or email me. Thanks,

Good Afternoon, I just found information about your softball league. I have a team and we are looking to play in a league, but I couldn't find any information on your site about what day of the week it is, how much, if any team can enter, etc. It would be great if you could give me any information that could fill in some details. Thanks for your help,

Hello, I have recently moved to the Hartford area and I came across the Softball League website. I was wondering if there are any spots for individuals to join a team? I work for a very small company that would not be able to field a team, so if there are any teams that take individuals, I'd love to learn more about it. Thanks very much!

Hey, I'm new to the area and I'm looking to jump on with a team. I can do everything other than pitch, but most of my playing time has been spent at 3B/SS. If anyone is interested feel free to email me.

Thanks, Derek (derekmoore_15@hotmail.com)

I am trying to round up some people to form a team with the hope that we can join the league. A few questions:

1.) When does the season start?
2.) When are the games played?
3.) How many people are needed to form a team?

If you can answer these questions and provide some additional general information, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance, Deanna (smithdeanna@hotmail.com)

I recently moved to the Hartford area, and both my boyfriend and I were interested in playing softball with a league. Do you have to be a part of a team, or is there any opportunity to join as an individual and be placed with a team? Thanks in advance for the info! Sincerely,

Re: Greater Hartford Independent Softball League

I am looking to join a league. The problem is I have the guys to start a team but do not have any women. We are from Illinois and are here working so we don't have the women available to play. Any suggestions?

Re: Linda's Game (to benefit American Lung Association)

Now that I have time to focus on something besides work, I'll share a few thoughts. First, you came to this idea in a similar way to us -- trying to do something positive in response to bad news. It has been an extremely rewarding experience for us -- humbling in many ways. We're just in the planning stages now for this year's game -- the timing is good for this discussion. Like you, I've tried to minimize the amount of work -- it can take a lot. I'm always trying to keep the act fresh -- adding your team would be an interesting new element. Considering an event with picnic to follow in the Danbury area -- that would about split the difference in travel for our two groups. Do you have any preferences on when this game might occur? We've been holding it at the height of summer but we're considering moving it to a cooler time. Good chance we can work something out - I'll run it by some key family members to get their thoughts.

Re: Steve Gacek Memorial (USSSA - Class E)

I will be having the tournament this year. I’m not sure of the price and the date yet. The parks and rec director in Berlin kind of gives me a hard time about the whole thing, but it’s for a friend of mine that was killed on his motorcycle by a drunk driver so he will let me hold it at Sage Park again. I would love to have you guys, this year I would like to have 8 teams instead of 4. As soon as I get everything straight with Bryant and the parks and rec director I'll send you an email and let you know.

I am responding to your e-mail from softballtournaments.com. The McDonald's Sports Festivals Softball Tournament currently has three open slots remaining so you are just in time. We are expecting a complete sellout sometime this month (not bad for a June 2nd event.)

To register, first send me a follow-up e-mail me providing your softball team name or if it is a corporate sponsored team, give me the name of your company.

Next step is to complete the application located on the Sports Festival brochure and send the application and your $1,000 donation (payable to the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island) to the address listed in the brochure.

All teams will be officially in the tournament once we receive your payment. If you have any questions please send me an e-mail or call me at the telephone number listed below.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for emailing me. You are right, it is difficult to find 7/3 tourneys. USSSA was willing to modify the requirements for me since it is a charity event. I am not too familiar with what's going on in Hartford but it looks like you are doing fairly well with 20-25 teams to play among. I guess I wonder why you are looking for more?

But, if you are looking for even more softball to play, you might want to try these websites: www.softballtournaments.com , www.eteamz.com, and just recently I discovered www.sportsvite.com. From the looks of it, it is a good place to find other teams to play against.

Good luck with your searching, sorry I couldn't be of more help. (I did hear that USSSA might one day create a 7/3 league, but that might just be talk.) Thanks again for emailing and I appreciate you posting my tournament on your site. I sure hope you can come out and play in my tournament as your team seems to have the attitude I am looking for (don't take yourselves too seriously, just want to have fun.) Please let me know if you can make it out (an out of state team...now THAT would be cool!)
