Mandatory Parent Meeting for All Registered Travel Players

Tryout Info

• During tryouts, the gym will be closed to family. Only evaluating staff and SGYBA Board members will be permitted inside.
• Parents are required to walk their player in and check in at the table.
• Please arrive during the designated check-in time, as tryouts will begin promptly.
• SGAHS varsity coaches and their staff will be evaluating players, and team placement will be based on skill level.
• Tryouts are scheduled over two evenings, and all athletes are expected to attend both. This is not an optional "either/or" choice of which night to attend. If an athlete has a prior commitment and cannot make both nights, they must inform the SGYBA Board in advance. In such cases, the athlete will only be evaluated on one night, which may impact their placement if all skills cannot be assessed in the limited time.
• Any athlete who does not attend either night of tryouts, without prior Board approval, will automatically be placed on a C team, unless granted an exception by the SGYBA Board.
• There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Monday/Tuesday. More details can be found above.
• All players must bring their own water bottle.
• Sample uniforms will be available for your player to try on before or after tryouts to determine the correct size for ordering.
• We will be accepting concession donations (water, Gatorade, soda) at tryouts for those interested in contributing.

Girls 

• Location: Spring Grove Area Middle School 

• Monday 9/23 and Thursday 9/26 

  • **Monday use the back entrance for drop off AND pick up - Door #20 (morning car rider door)

  • Thursday use gymnasium entrance

  • 2nd/3rd/4th Grade: Check-in, 5:45-5:55 PM; Tryout Time, 6:00-7:15 PM

  • 5th/6th Grade: Check-in, 7:15-7:25 PM; Tryout Time, 7:30-8:45 PM

Boys  

• Location: Spring Grove Area High School

• Tuesday 9/24 and Wednesday 9/25

  • 2nd/3rd/4th Grade: Check-in, 5:45-5:55 PM; Tryout Time, 6:00-7:15 PM

  • 5th/6th Grade: Check-in, 7:15-7:25 PM; Tryout Time, 7:30-8:45 PM

🏀 Please keep the following reminders in mind:

• You’ll need to create an account to proceed (or log in using your credentials from last year).
  
  
• Second graders from SGASD are welcome to register and try out for a travel team, but placement will be based on experience, skills, and availability on the B/C team rosters. We recommend that second graders remain in the K-2 program unless their skills match the requirements for a travel team.
  
  
• Registration for the 3-6 Travel program closes on September 16, 2024. Late registrations will only be accepted if there is availability in your child's age group and will incur a $25 late fee.
  
  
• Registration for the K-2 Intramural program closes on September 30, 2024. Late registrations will only be accepted based on program availability and will incur a $25 late fee.
  
  
• Registrations are not complete until payment is received.
  
  
• Tryouts for A/B/C Travel will be held on September 23-26, 2024. Details will be emailed after registration closes.
  
  

  • SGAHS varsity coaches and their staff will be evaluating tryouts and teams will be selected based on skill level  

  • You must attend at least one tryout to be placed on an A or B Team

  • Tryout dates/times are subject to change

  • We will be accepting concession donations at tryouts (water, Gatorade, soda) if you are interested in donating
