Pittsburgh Alumni Club visits New York

June 7, 2007
7 brothers from the Pittsburgh Alumni Club made a road trip to our area. First stop Yankee Stadium where they joined some New York Area brothers for a Yankees-Pirates game. On Day 2 some of the group joined Charlie Fiore, Mike Iacovelli and Pete Gaudiuso for a day of golf at the Royce Brook GC in NJ. The rest bravely ventured back to the Stadium to sit with the Bleacher Creatures for game 2 of the series. Though the Yankees won both games, the PAC guys had a great time and we are planning to go on the road with them next year to catch a ball game somewhere else in the US. A pdf file of the trip with photos and commentary can be found in the Newsletters/Documents section on the left.

Another Great Evening at Pegasus for the BAC!

October 7, 2005
For the 3rd consecutive year, a large group (27) of BAC brothers and families got together at the Pegasus Restaurant in the Meadowlands racetrack for an evening of dining & wagering. Though the rain forced many horses to be scratched and the Yankees were in the process of losing game 3 of the ALDS, we all had a great time. Plus, we got to see the Red Sox eliminated! The 3rd race of the evening was named after our group and Mike and Ronnie Manniello and Leo and Nancy Parmegiani were in the winners circle to present the winning jockey with the BAC cup! Above is a picture of the better halves in attendance. Theta Beta Reunion

March 15, 2005
A group of BAC alumni from Theta Beta Chapter (NYU) in the 80's got together for their annual mid-town Manhattan reunion. The evening started at the very hip Whiskey Blue bar in the W hotel on Lexington and concluded at our regular table at China Moon restaurant. Pictured above are (l-r) Pete Gaudiuso, Joe Narciso, Tony Pizzino, John Palamarik, John Bruno, Dino Vitale and Frank Polverino

Scholarship Fundaraiser A Success!

January 21, 2005
Braving frigid temperatures, 12 brothers got together at The Gamut for a fundraising social benefitting the newly created BAC Scholarship Fund. Leo Parmegiani got behind the bar to serve drinks and all his tips for the evening were donated to the fund. Making sure Leo was kept busy were Doug Awn, John Bruno, Rob DeMartini and his girlfriend Teresa, Charlie Fiore, Pete Gaudiuso, Bryan Grimaldi, Joe Logozzo, Joe Narciso, Ed Urena, Dino Vitale and Beta Omega brother Marco ?????. The usual complement of stories were shared, gift certificates were given out and we also found time to sit down for dinner. Hopefully this will be the first of many similar events.

Seeking to put rumors to rest and to fly in the face of his Manager Joe "You don't have a girlfriend" Caldarella, Rob De Martini hired a lovely young lady to accompany him to the evening's festivities. Making sure to eliminate even the smallest hint of impropriety, The Plumber prepped his "date" with various factoids, allowing her to give an air of familiarity with his life. He even went so far as to devise an elaborate scenario surrounding how they "met" and began dating. The brothers assembled were suspicous from the beginning, as not only was "Teresa" if that's her real name, lovely, well spoken, charming and clearly intellectually superior to Rob, though that's not difficult, but she also laughed at our lame jokes and stories. The jig was up however when "Teresa" was heard asking Rob himself, "Who the hell is Hondo?" Nice try, Plumber!

Night at the Pegasus

October 29, 2004
The BAC once again returned to the Pegasus restaurant at the Meadowlands racetrack for an evening of food, friends and wagers. Twenty-three club members and their families attended (Doug Awn, Leo Parmegiani, Frank Marino, Joe Caldarella, Pete Gaudiuso, Carl Gargiulo, Neil Anastasio, Ralphie Parmegiani, Zeke Parmegiani, Joe Narciso). Neil and Carl brought their daughters to the event. Trish and Liz Anastasio and Carla Gargiulo (played by Ralphie) awarded the prize to the winner of the third race which was sponsored by the club. Surprisingly, Leo did not bet as he said he doesn't need any more money. Neil was the big winner hitting a trifecta paying out over $250. He immediately donated the winnings to the APD Scholarship fund - or he spent it on liquor, I can't recall. Thanks to Ralphie for arranging this successful event again this year!

The BAC contingent of Victor Popolano, Emil Coscarelli, Ralph Preite, Mike Iacovelli, Rick Trieste and Pete Gaudiuso joined brothers from NYAC, NJAC, LHVAC and undergraduate entities as far away as Colorado! It was a truly great day for APD and we even got on TV for about 25 seconds! Please check out the photo album for more pictures.

Golf Outing

July 31, 2004
Great job by Ralphie Parmegiani in organizing our golf outing at LaTourette Golf Club in Staten Island. Four foursomes enjoyed a beautiful day for golf. Those who turned out included Charlie Fiore, Neil Anastasio, Charles Garbarino, Bryan Grimaldi, John Bruno, Joe Logozzo, Doug Awn, Mike Iacovelli, Leo and Ralphie Parmegiani, Pete Gaudiuso and a surprise, last minute appearance by John Palamarik. It was great to see Charlie Garbarino after quite some time that included tours of the Middle East as a military physician. A highlight of the outing was Doug Awn's wife, Suzanne, somewhere in the back nine after enduring playing with Doug, Mike and myself, proclaiming in her Texan accent "Y'All are terrible!"

2004 Narciso Super Bowl Table of the Gods

Ten brothers and family attended the annual Joe Narciso Table of the Gods Super Bowl Party. Fun and decadent eating for hours makes this annual event something to look forward to. It took John Palamarik one full year to send this photo in!

Evening @ Pegasus a Big Success!

October 10, 2003
41 brothers, family and friends got together for an evening of great fun! The 2nd race of the evening was named after the club. Jenna Caldarella and John Anastasio presented the winning jockey with a trophy. We welcomed Villanova alum Seth Damergy to his first BAC event. 17 Turn out for Theta Beta Reunion!

April 16, 2003
Overweight brothers from 1975 to 1993 descended upon Connolly's in NYC for an after work get together/reunion. This is the third time this has been done over the past several years and it always seems like we just graduated a few weeks ago, and we act in public like we did also. But alas, with kids entering college (Demitrio Acot), kids in their last year (Carl Gargiulo), and kids in their early years (Carl & Neil), to kids in Diapers (Sherman Yu), and kids at heart (Pete Gadiotti, John Loddo), its clear a few years have passed!

We finally broke for home around 11 PM, drunk and vomit-stained with more memories for the next get together. One I must share is my little brother Mike Manniello --- "No, I never did that ... I don't remember that ... [wait 30 seconds] .. Oh yeah, I remember that now, I DID do that".

BAC Holiday Santa Party!

December 15, 2002 – 02:00 PM
The annual BAC Holiday Santa Party was held at the home of Leo and Nancy Parmegiani. We enjoyed a very large spread of food, and the company of Pete & Grace Sparaco, along with many of the normal attendees and their kids. In addition and perhaps most importantly, we enjoyed a few games of BOCCE (does everyone know that Leo has a Bocce Court in his backyard)? Pictured are the fraternity's own Soprano's: Joe "Walnuts" Narciso, Leo "Sil" Parmegiani, Pete "T" Sparaco, Ralphie "Chrissy" Parmegiani, and Mike "Big Pussy" Iacovelli. Missing from the picture was Soprano's #1 fan, Ralph Preite.

The Legend of the Bocce Court!

December 15, 2002
The Legend of the Parmegiani Bocce Court was unmasked at the 2002 Holiday Party! Enjoying a series of games on the Red, White, and Green bordered Bocce court were the same Soprano look alikes from other photos of this same event! This is no longer a rumour, a legend, a mystery ... it is real, and you wish you were there to experience the thrill of Parmegiani Bocce!!

Founders Day Dinner

November 15, 2002
On Friday night, the BAC celebrated Founder's Day in NYC at Trattoria Napoli. Parmegiani's, Caldarella's, Iacovelli's, and Gaudiuso were in attendance. A bonus was that the parking garage across the street was a paltry $10!
