What is Attack Football?

Attack Football is the future of football as we know it. It is a variation of the Emory and Henry and A-11 offenses. This offensive style is used in 11-man offenses with the players being separated into three groups of three along the line of scrimmage. The formation itself was created at Emory and Henry College but made famous by none other than Steve Spurrier of Florida, South Carolina and Washington Redskins fame. This offense takes advantage of the fact that it is difficult to defend because of the numerous options available to the offensive team. In 2007 the A-11 Offense was created by Kurt Bryan and Steve Humphries of Piedmont High School in California. While the Emory and Henry used offensive linemen split wide the A-11 took advantage of a loophole which allowed them to use players of any position on scrimmage kicks. The A-11 Offense was used for two seasons before the National Federation of State High School Associations banned the use of A-11 and closed the loophole which allowed it. The Emory and Henry continues to find use at the collegiate and professional level...most notably by Steve Spurrier at South Carolina and to some extent by the Cleveland Browns. Attack Footballs closest kin is the A-11 offense as we do not require offensive linemen to split out wide. For years this offense was implemented without any knowledge of either the Emory and Henry nor the A-11 Offense but find it inspiring that we shared an idea of what the future holds for football. One problem we found as youth and semi-pro coaches is that we had trouble recruiting offensive linemen but always had too many receivers. Attack Football turned our dilemma into an advantage.
Still confused? In laymans terms think Wildcat meets the Spread Formation but there is much more to it than that. It is a high octane offense that promises to deliver entertaiment and, more importantly, touchdowns.
