LEAGUE RULES:
 6 ON 6 FLAG FOOTBALL GENERAL RULES
• A coin toss will be used to determine first possession
• The offensive team takes possession of the ball at its 20 yard line and has four (4) plays to get 20 yeards for a first.
• Teams change sides after the first 30 minutes
• Teams consist of twelve (12) players (6 on the field and 6 substitutes).
• Teams must have six (6) players on the field at all times.
• Games are played to 30 minute running time. The clock does not stop, except for an injury, time outs, incomplete passes or out of bounds under a minute in each half.
• Overtime - college rules
• The quarterback CANNOT run with the ball - player receiving the snap CANNOT run the ball. If the QB is blitzed he may run the ball.
• Only direct handoffs behind the line of scrimmage are permitted. Multiple handoffs are permitted as long as they are
behind the line of scrimmage.
• Only the player who takes a handoff behind the line of scrimmage can throw the ball from behind the line of scrimmage.
• Once the ball has been handed off, all defensive players may rush.
• Spinning is allowed and jumping is allowed. No flag guarding and a runner may not use his hands to avoid (stiff arm) or block a defensive person from grabbing
the flag.
• The ball is spotted where the ball is at the time the flag is pulled.
• All players are eligible to receive passes.
• Only one player can be in motion at one time.
• A player must have one foot in bounds when making a reception.
• All passes must be forward.
• Shovel passes are allowed but must be a forward pass.
• The quarterback has a seven-second “pass clock” in which to throw the ball. If the ball is not thrown within the seven
seconds, the play is dead with a loss of down. If the ball is handed off, the seven-second rule is void and defenders
may rush.
• Interceptions change the possession of the ball at the point of interception.Run backs are allowed.
• The ball must be snapped between the center’s legs.
• Substitutions can be made only on dead balls.
• A play is ruled dead when:
- Ball carrier’s flag is pulled
- Ball carrier steps out of bounds
- Touchdown or safety
- At the point of an interception
- Ball carrier’s knee hit the ground.
- Ball carrier’s flag falls out
- fumbles cannot be returned.
• No rushing of the QB unless there was a hand off and then the ball carrier gave the ball back to the QB to throw or once every 4 downs. The Center has the option to stay in and block or may go out for a pass. The Center is always eligable even if a defender rushes the QB. Penalty for more than one player rushing or rushing more than twice every 4 downs, 5 yards reaply the down. Defender rushing passer must be within a yard of the center at the snap and either head up or on one of the centers shoulders.
PENALTIES
Roughing or foul play will not be
tolerated. Roughing or foul play is anything that remotely resembles tackling, cutting, swinging of arms, and
elbow chops. Players violating this rule will be given ONE warning. Any subsequent violation will result in removal from
the game.
The following defensive penalties will be enforced:
-Basic college football rules.
Flags must be uncovered at all times. 10 yard pen.
Punts with no rushing the punter. Ball is spotted where ball is caught or where it goes out of bounds.
Extra points - 1 point from the 5 yard line, 2 points from the 15 yard line. Defense can return the extra point attempt for the same points the offense was attempting.
5 Men on the field at all times. QB, WR, WR, RB/WR, and C. Drops and additions can be made to your roster until week 5. Once your teams week 5th game begins, your roster is locked and no more changes can be made for any reason for the rest of the season. A player can only play for the team they started the season with. No trades or moving to other teams is allowed. Once a player is dropped from your teams roster, they are done for the season.
NO TACKLING!!! 15 yard pen. and auto. first down. ANY HARD OR INTENTIONAL TACKLES and player will be thrown out of game. If the ball carrier has only one man to beat for a touchdown and the defender tackles him hard or looks to be intentional, ball will be spotted on the 1 yard line and offense will have first and goal.
No arguing with referees. Again our refs. are not pros. and will do their best.
First time arguing - 15 yard pen.
Second time - player or players out for game.

2 - 30 minute halfs. Under 1 minute in each half clock will stop for incomplete passes and if runner goes out of bounds. 5 minute halftime. 6 - timeouts per game 3 per half

OVERTIME: Each team will get the ball from the other teams 40 yard line. Offense has the option of going for 1 or 2 point conversion if they score. Each conversion after that will be a two point conversion. Game will continue until there is a winner. One time out per team in overtime.

If a team has less than 6 players at a game, it is up to the team they are to play if they play the game with 5 players or if they want a forfeit win. If they play the game, the team with less than 6 players is not allowed to add players from another team or a player not on their roster unless other allows. Must have min. of 5 players.

Each player on a teams roster must play at least 5 regular season games in order to play in their teams playoff game(s) based on a 10 game regluar season. 12 game regular season each player must play in 6 regular season games to qualify for playoffs. Each team will be notified at the end of the season if a play is not allowed to play in the playoffs.

A player who starts the season playing for a team can ONLY play for that team during a season. A player can not quit or be dropped from a team, then join another team in the league. Team will forfiet all games player in question played in. The roster turned in at deadline is the offical roster. If your roster at deadline only has 9 players, your team is stuck with a 9 man roster the entire season.

Roster and fee deadline will be posted well in advance of the upcoming season. Any team who does not turn in roster and/or fees before the deadline will not be accepted into the league that season!

After change of possession, the team with the ball must wait until the defense is set before snapping the ball. 5 yard pen / false start. Defense must be lined up before 25 second clock expires.

Each player must have their shirt tucked in at all times.

Each team must have a team color and all players must wear their team color.
