Monroe Twp Background Check Ordinance:
Monroe Twp has passed an ordinance mandating all youth sports organizations to utilize a new township sponsored process for background checks on all coaches, board members, and other volunteers. The township is collecting a fee of $5 per registrant to fund these community wide mandatory background checks. Monroe Lacrosse is participating in this process.
The Monroe Lacrosse Club (Braves Lacrosse) is a member of the South Jersey Youth Lacrosse League, SJYLax. This is a travel program and we will be playing approximately 10 - 12 games this spring between March and June. The season comes to a close in early June with a tournament at a location yet to be determined.
SJYLax requires that all players, and coaches, be current members of US Lacrosse at a cost of $25 per player. Membership benefits include magazine subscriptions, membership ID, and limited medical insurance in the event of injury.
