The Chicago Stars are happy to be host to Julien Brygo, famous writer, reporter, and short fimographer. Stringing from France the struggles of the inner city youth leading to the NBA in the dangerous city of Chicago. Julien came to get the perspective of current basketball players and past basketball players coming from the Chicago Stars program. As it relates to keeping out of trouble, pending or non pending dreams of making it to the NBA. Views on NBA players coming to give back to the inner city basketball programs, community, or taking the dance to middle class America. Julien spent the Saturday Practice with the Chicago Stars on Feb 18, 2017. We wish him good luck and we look forward to seeing us in the French news and in International Headlines. Thanks Julien!!

College Coaches are not baby sitters. They are instructors of grown men. Grown men know what to do and why they do it. This Saturday will be conducted by a DI College Coach for the past 10 years and trainer. Also a former NJCAA Athletic Director. I think that The Chicago Stars are men who are ready to take on the college coaching experience. This weekend will go as follows.

Have your Defensive Game Goals on memory.

Entering the gym on time we will begin to run our 3 suicides without being told.

After suicides we will count how many Stars are in the gym and shoot that number x 5 for freethrows.

We will break for 2 mins. After that break we will return and run the diamond. 2 times chest past. 2 times bounce (only the ball mover bonces) 2 times over head. (only the ball mover) 5 push-ups for any smoked layups.

After the diamond we will run our defensive close out drill. Run the ball down offense and defense.

After the close out drill we will do our offense to guard the clock, 3 mins 21.. 2 mins.. Motion..1 min.. Spread.

After that Coach Woods will bring some on the head defensive skill drills and take the practice on the college level teaching from there. You will be graded on how well you respond to this College Environment beginning at 2pm.

Congrats

The Commitment Letter

April 27, 2014

April 26, 2014

To all Chicago Stars Players and Parents:

As you know our most important and biggest events of the year are coming up. It is a must that we schedule

around these dates that are locked in stone. We have Sr students on our team roster that will be graduating,

prom, college visits, summer trips, and etc. Take a mind to schedule your events around these most important

dates if you are on the Chicago Stars Roster as these upcoming dates are going to be when school has been let

out. Sr students please delay your college visits. Kicking it, party life. Or just plain getting kicked out of the

house at this time. Please ask your parents for an extention. Stay true to the commitment of the team and

follow thru with your plans. Our plans. The Chicago Stars have split the cost with you for the Orlando, Fl.

National YBOA trip, June 29th- July 5th. Very expensive, so make sure you attend so that we will not waiste our

time or money going to Florida to lose. We plan to rent a villa or townhome to accomidate our size and

economics. Hotel rooms will isolate players from the chaperones and will be costly. And not allow us to fix our

own meals. In case you don’t know, food in Olando Fl. Is expensive. Parents may use this as a mini vacation if

they plan to attend...

The second big trip on our agenda will be the 35th annual Rick Bolus High Potential Blue Chip Camp. This is a

national ranking and scouting camp. After all that we do this will be the last chance to be noticed and hand

delivered to a college program. 2500 college scouts and recruiters from across the nation will be there. It will be

held in Kentucky on the Georgetown College campus. We will live for 5 days and 4 nights in the college dorms

and we will eat in the college cafeteria. We have no reason to buy food during our stay. Parents can attend and

stay in nearby hotel rooms at a discount. You can be with us the entire day, if your choose but I guarentee,

basketball from 7am – 11pm daily will wear you out. The entire cost of the trip will go directly to the college for

your room and board, meals, etc. You can pay them online or you can pay me since I am a worker there and a

national coach. Ill turn your monies in. the cost is $399 and it cannot be avoided. Going with me gets you a

discount. If you pay online or by mail you will only pay $300 to the college but you will pay me $99 for

transportation. (Beat that with a bus, train, or plane) We will stay all together in the dorm on the same floor

and room with each other. As an adult I will room with no prospect, it is not allowed. I will room the guys

together that have gotten along during our time this season together. Every prospect can attend. The 20/20

Fundraiser makes it easy for each individual to raise money for his trip...

Please confirm both dates below with checks and a signature at the bottom. Any questions please don’t

hesitate to call. Stars!!! We hustle from tip to buzzer…

2015 (excuse our dust)

We are starting up right now as you read this article. We will be playing in a series of tune-ups with the youth police league as we do yearly for our kick off. As of now they don't fully have all details worked out so I don't have much to give to our parents. But we already have our agenda of birth certificates, grades, proof of insurance, fees. You were instructed several times to take a look at the website so that you can see where these fees and such are applied and why we need what we need with grades and birth certificates. AAU basketball requires a serious commitment. Of course those who have been with us in the years past can avoid all of this since we have your grades, birth certificates, and proof of insurance. I know that the boys are excited to get going and the vets will be back this week and the weeks following as we construct our 2015 teams. 14u and 18u. The 18U team will play the two qualifying tourneys but I want to focus on the college shootouts for exposure this year. We will go to the championships in Florida. AND EVERYTHING ELSE that 18U can get involved in. The 14U. Welcome to the greatest and busiest basketball experience that you have ever had in your life. Please keep up and stay informed. You will be a basketball player after this and you will develop for that next level. Are you ready? As you continue to come along we introduce you to various important faces in our organization. We are looking forward to your energy and excited participation. On our agenda? Kentucky, Florida, Indiana, Nebraska, NBA Camps, get suited and ready. Go Stars!!

2015 Stars (the Ultimate Year)

The year that most of us have been waiting for is here. The young guns always playing up leave the nest. 2015. Jeremiah Stewart, Jimmy Taylor, Tariq Muhammad. back on deck are powerful players from last years championship team Jordan Stovall, Vanilla Vell Eggleston. Joined by a talented host of new DI prospects not new to National Championship play, Okeitho Marshall, Rashad Grant,  Deandre Woods.

Pictures, AAU numbers, Schedules, and profiles, coming soon.

Getting Grades Gives You Choices

Our prospect and point guard Tariq Muhammad has applied to not 1 but several Universities of higher learning Iowa St., Miami, Missouri South East, Northern Illinois,  Selecting to decline all D3 and D2, Tariq's acceptance letters are Valpo, Cleveland St., Kansas University, DePaul University, Kentucky University. Great job academically Tariq!

On the Court Trainer

Aaron Moore has been with the Chicago Stars program since 11 years old. We are thankful for his give back volunteering spirit. He certainly has the information of how and why the Chicago Stars do what we do. He has the experience. Aaron has also helped train at NBA camps under Coach T. He has been to several out of town tournaments during his jr. and high school days as a Chicago Stars basketball player. He will be on the court keeping fit with the team and helping the new ballplayers adjust to tactical and court philosophy of the Chicago Stars. He does not talk much. But, he displays the action on the court of a true hustling guard, from tip to buzzer. Watch and learn. Coach Aaron Moore

June 24-28

Rick Bolus, High Potential Basketball Blue Chip camp directer has set the dates needed to fill programs, dorm assignments, meal assignments, class room activity rotations, staffing per camper count, etc. In order to give you the best camp quality possible and continue to have a successful experience, the camp registration deadlines have been set.
All camp deposits ($100) must be in with full paperwork to The Chicago Stars by June 10th. In 1 envelope the Chicago Stars Registration packets will go out together. Giving you a discount. After this package goes in the mail, there will be no other registrations from us. On June 19, all remaining balances ($295) must get to The Chicago Stars ready to be sent in 1 envelope to Rick Bolus on June 20. If you do not follow these steps, YOU ARE NOT GOING.
If you are not going to the camp, please handle your balance in order to continue with the Chicago Stars Summer activities which includes NBA camps, personal training, scrimmages, games, etc.
What a game. What a game. The Chicago Stars trailed the Illimois X-Men for the first half of the Championship of the South Suburban AAU Tournament, held in Dolton, Il. Eris Ross' 13 rebounds 2 blocks would not go to waste. Dana Goodwins ball pace chipped in 4 assists for the Stars. Shavelle Moses took those assists and turned them into gold having the hot hand with 16 points.
Great defense from the full team, bench included, results in the Chicago Stars as AAU champions. On the path to victory, the Chicago Stars defeated K.O.B., Elite Sports Leaders, Illinois Phoenix, Illinois X-Men.
The Chicago Stars blow out the Midwest Wolves at the Scottsdale Park Tournament to win the second Championship in 3 weeks closing the season. The Midwest Wolves walked off the court with 48 seconds left in the game. the 6'9 Wolves center was no factor in this game at all even with 3 blocked shots. The Stars held him to 6 points. Showing up 7 minutes into the game the game pace was already set. The Stars lead 22-11 at the half. 3 3pointers by Tariq Muhammad 5 asst 2 steals. Erick Ross with 13 rebounds. Shavelle Moses with 5 steals. Greyland Norton with 4 steals. Dana Goodwin with 4 rebounds 2 steals. Jeremiah Stewert , Greyland Norton, and Dana Goodwin with the athletic keep away dribble, to let the air out of the Wolves in the last 2 minutes, left the Stars with a 44-25 victory. "Considering our rough points this season with personnel maturity and the unwillingness to do things the way of the traditional Chicago Stars Basketball system, this was a fitting way for these guys to end this season with 2 Tournament Championships. We will be back in the gym training early for next year in a few weeks."..Coach T
The Chicago Stars are 3rd in the Central Region. Congratulations to all of the Chicago Stars AAU for winning a National bid to Florida as a DI team representing Chicago. Our concentrated efforts from here on out will be dedicated to our Kentucky/Florida Travel. Some of you know how big this visit to Florida Nationals is. Scouts will see many players this year but they will see you in the places where they have set up to watch you, the AAU Nationals and Kentucky Blue-Chip Scouting Camp. Gentleman this is The Real AAU, getting you to higher education and the next level. At this time we are thanking all of the Chicago Stars Student Athletes. Go Stars!!!
We are headed to Walt Disneys ESPN Sports Complex July 24th-30th as one of the top 8 teams representing the Central Region (Illinois).
700 Victory Way, Kissimmee, Fl 34747.
We will update you here for hotel, travel arrangements, event passes for parents, and theme park tickets for our team, as we secure it.

To All Players And Parents

AT THIS TIME, IF YOU ARE NOT PAID IN FULL WITH YOUR REGISTRATION FEES YOU ARE NO LONGER A MEMBER OF THE CHICAGO STARS. OUR BILLS ARE DUE. THIS MEANS THAT WE MUST SERVICE THOSE WHO ARE KEEPING UP WITH THE REQUIRED CHICAGO STARS COMMITMENTS. NEEDLESS TO SAY, YOUR SLOT WILL NOW BE FILLABLE WITH SELECTED BASKETBALL PLAYERS WHO ARE ABLE TO COVER YOUR BALANCE.

Kentucky June 24th-28th
MANDATORY TEAM TAG MAY 30th, Wednesday 5:00 87th & Pulaski
Tagging will be the method that we raise our monies for our Kentucky trip. If you are unable to tag then we expect that you can give Rick Bolus the $100 downpayment that he asks by June 10th. No deposit by June 10th means that you will not attend this camp. If this is your Jr year you need this camp now. Next year will be too late. The deadline deposit date allows Rick to set aside housing, living quarters, and food for those attending the camp across the nation. After the deposit has been given, it is his usual practice that every camper be paid in full 2 weeks prior to the camp, but since I will be working the camp, he will allow the Chicago Stars a few more days. So in reality you would need to be paid by June 10th in full. You need to make this camp in order to be seen by 2500 colleges and to be ranked on the scouting reports. You will find the link below. Your total fee is $395.

Those basketball players that i have invited to play with the Chicago Stars on scholarship need a $100 deposit for Nationals. If I have invited you to this team, this clearly means that this is your last time that you will be able to make the bid to the biggest High School event in the nation. 49 times bigger than your state championship. Many dont make it. Your deposit is due immediately. Do not miss this college bound invitation of a lifetime because of finances, make arrangements with Coach T.

Tariq Bounce Magazine Feature

Hello, allow me to introduce myself. I am Tariq Muhammad. Son of a Coach I have been playing since 6. I mostly played High School Basketball at Chicago Brooks. I bounced up and down on varsity as a Sophmore in the Red South. Then in my Jr year  was a Varsity Starter. Also then moved to Chicago Simeon. My family relocated. Then again we relocated to North Chicago and I finished my Sr. year at North Chicago High School. My Jr. to Sr. year I was plagued with a broken jaw. I played basketball my Sr. year not fully recovered. I want to announce to the world that I have remained in the gym, working step by step tirelessly to get bigger, stronger, preparing my College steps. Looking to utilize my skills as a speedy, crafty, point guard that can break down defenses with the ability to knock down the shot.

Sports Medicine is my Major. Switching over from Physical Therapy. Ill be working hard to try to get back in step with my academic side in my adjustment to College Freshman life. Regrouped. Please don't hesitate to contact my AAU Coach, Terence Hood (773) 412-4191. Who is also my father. Or S. Chism Head Coach Mens Basketball Malcolm X College. I am a basketball kid. I want to be back in the folds of where I belong.

Thanks for your time

Basketballian,

Tariq Muhammad
